IT'S A BOY! On 25 June, our on-leave Events & Membership Manager Rebecca Ingram and her partner Luke welcomed a healthy baby boy. Congratulations from everyone - mother, father and child are all doing great.

Innovation For a 360 Content World
The Northern Rivers Screenworks New Media Incubator in Byron Bay will be a 3-day real and virtual exploration of the opportunities for creativity, culture, enterprise and production via new media distribution channels. Key media industry International and Australian speakers and representatives have already confirmed their presentations.
This tight, high profile event will have extraordinary reach throughout Australian Television and New Media. Focusing on cutting edge innovation in 360 Entertainment; Television; News Press; Online Advertising; Education; Logs and Blogs; Mobiles; Podcasting; Games; Cross Platform Content and Design, this event is already attracting attention.
The first two days (Thursday 23 and Friday 24 October) will be a hothouse for local content producers, screenwriters and visual creatives to focus on developing their own project for market release and stronger business outcomes. Experienced and practicing media professionals will examine and guide the project work of a selected group of participants. Numbers will be limited to approximately 8–10 projects for approximately 20 individuals.
On the third day (Saturday 25 October) an impressive and inspiring list of speakers will provide intensive industry update and discussion on new media trends, regional Australia niche markets, multi-platform dealing and emerging distribution channels. This will be an open day for all to attend and will culminate in an informal social and networking opportunity over sunset cocktails.
Held at the spectacular Byron at Byron Resort, this Screenworks event will engage, inform and inspire the screen industry for the media innovation revolution on our doorstep. We look forward to seeing you there!

Byron Film Club
Byron
Film Club (BFC) is an informal network of people interested in screening
and promoting the life of North Coast filmmakers devoted to the
production and enjoyment of film, art and cultural experiences in
the way of short films and multimedia screenworks. Byron Film Club
is a non profit organisation incorporated under the Island Quarry
and sponsored by FrankAz, Azinc, Screenworks, The Arts Factory,
Claire Douglas and filmmakers of the region. BFC works in collaboration
with the Film Artists Cooperative (FAC). Screenings are held on
a monthly basis as are Film Artist Cooperative meetings. Curation

Congratulations to Susie Forster who is the newly appointed FAC co ordinator. FAC is a participant run group of filmmakers, actors, writers, composers,
producers and others from the local Northern Rivers community who
are helping one another to connect with other local talent and resources
in order to achieve their individual filmmaking goals. Read
