Screenworks Life's a Pitch

This event has launched careers for Northern Rivers film makers.  This year there is the opportunity to take your idea to Cannes

By putting in a submission to Screenworks Life's A Pitch contestants are automatically in the running for a free registration to SPAA 2009 Life's A Pitch winner and runner upFringe and Final Cut Pro software valued at $1200 sponsored by Azure Productions

The winner of Screenworks Life's A Pitch  will be flown to Sydney in October to pitch their project to a panel of film and television executives at SPAA Fringe.

Two finalists will be selected at SPAA Fringe and will win $1,500 each. They will then be flown back to Sydney in November, to pitch their projects head-to-head in the Holding Redlich Pitching Competition at the SPAA Conference. The winner of the Holding Redlich Pitching Competition will go on to receive a return airfare for one to the Cannes Film Festival or a TV Market in 2010/11 and a $2,000 cash prize plus free registration to SPAA 2011 Conference.

Closing date for entries into Screenworks Life's a Pitch

August 2nd 5pm

All applications for Screenworks Life's A Pitch need to be in to the Screenworks office by 5pm on August 2nd.  Only current Screenworks members can submit entries for Screenworks Life's A Pitch.  To become a Screenworks members click here

First Round Finalists Pitch

August 14th

Short listed first round finalists pitch to local judges.  The selected finalists from this round go on to training for the Screenworks Life's A Pitch finals.

Screenworks Pitch Training

Sept 5th

The selected finalists spend a day training on the art of the perfect pitch.  Screenworks has 2 key industry professionals that will work with each of the finalists and train them in the art of pitching.  Screenworks members are invited to come along on the day and for a small fee they can watch and learn as well. 

Screenworks Life's A Pitch Finals

Sept 18th 6.30pm Byron Bay Community Centre

The finalists will then pitch their projects in front of a public audience at Screenworks Life’s a Pitch event.  An expert panel will choose one winner to be flown to Sydney in October to attend SPAA Fringe and to pitch their project to a panel of film and television executives at SPAA Fringe.
