FILM ARTISTS COOPERATIVE (FAC)
A free program supported
by Northern Rivers Screenworks
Who are THE FILM ARTISTS COOPERATIVE
(FAC)?
FAC is a participant run group
of film makers, actors, writers, composers, producers,
etc, from the local Northern Rivers community who
are helping one another to connect with other local
talent and resources in order to achieve their individual
film making goals. Supported by Northern Rivers
Screenworks, the Byron Bay RSL Club, the Beach Hotel
and TP Health Ltd., members are encouraged to work-shop
their scripts, ‘pitch’ their film ideas
to one another, and form production units that result
in ‘not for profit’ short ‘portfolio’
film collaborations. Activities may include producing
short dramas, mini-docs & experimental films,
perhaps the shooting of ‘one off’ dramatic
scenes for design or acting presentation, exploring
short film comedy sketches, creating musical film
scores. In short, FAC’s primarily function
is to encourage members to explore their potential
and to gain experience in the real world process
of collaborative film making.
Why join?
When you participate in FAC,
you will be joining with many other local film artists
who have elected to share their film aspirations
and contact details with one another. Members are
‘connecting and collaborating’ by sharing
ideas, volunteering to crew for one another, and
basically improving their skills by working on member
initiated productions. FAC provides monthly meetings and an email newsletter.
Where FAC is & when?
FAC is presently hosted at the Byron Bay RSL Club,
Jonson St. Meetings take place on the first Thursday
of each month from 7:30 to 10 PM. Contact coordinator
