NEW WEB SITE LAUNCHED

Screenworks has launched a new web site at http://www.screenworks.com.au/.

The new site features:
- an enhanced directory of screen practitioners, which you can search by keyword or alphabetically - or browse through the detailed list of categories
- the beginnings of our locations gallery, which will expand dramatically over the coming months
- an events calendar to which you can submit events
- a list of Northern Rivers productions, to which you can submit projects that are in development, in pre-production, in production or recently released.

IF YOU HAD A LISTING ON THE OLD SCREENWORKS WEB SITE, that listing has been migrated to the new site. However, we urge you to visit the site and check your profile and then log on and update your listing as soon as possible by visiting http://www.screenworks.com.au/members/user.php. If you have forgotten your password, you can request that it be emailed to you on this page.

When you update your listing, please pay particular attention to:
1. Ensuring that all contact details are correct and selecting whether or not you wish to keep some or all contact details private
2. Reviewing the categories in which your listing will appear
3. Adding/updating details of your screen credits
5. Submitting events or production info

IF YOU ARE A NORTHERN RIVERS SCREEN PRACTITIONER AND ARE NOT YET LISTED ON THE SITE, we encourage you to add your listing now. You are eligible if you are working in the screen industries (film, multimedia, video, internet) in one of the following council areas:

  • Byron
  • Ballina
  • Copmanhurst
  • Grafton
  • Lismore
  • Maclean
  • Tweed
  • Pristine Waters
  • Kyogle
  • Richmond Valley

Visit http://www.screenworks.com.au/members/user.php?a=register to add your listing.

Thanks also to our start-up developers and web hosts, NextWave Media, for their support over the past few years.

IN PRODUCTION

It has been a great week in Fingal for the Northern Rivers crew shooting the Oceana Surfing Competition doco. The doco follows the lives of five indigenous surfers from Tonga, NZ, Fiji, Tahiti and Australia during the 2004 and 2005 surfing comps. Indigenous Fingal locals Christy-Jo and James Mercy have been gaining work experience on set mentored by Spencer Lee (sound specialist with 40 yrs exp) and Glen Woods on camera. Written, directed and co-produced by Samia Goudie, the crew also includes Belinda Roberts (producer) and Steve Shearer (water photography).
